Savills Canada Adds Retail Leasing Veteran Sheri McEwen as Senior Vice President in Toronto

Senior retail leasing leader joins Savills Canada to enhance integrated retail advisory in Toronto

TORONTO, ON (February 25, 2026)—Savills Canada today announced that Sheri McEwen has joined the firm as Senior Vice President in the Toronto office, strengthening the firm’s retail platform with senior-level expertise spanning leasing, asset services, and retail asset management across Canada.

With more than 18 years of commercial real estate experience, McEwen is recognized for advising a broad range of retail stakeholders and for her deep knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape. Her landlord-side background provides a differentiated perspective into how investors and asset managers evaluate leasing decisions, performance, and long-term value creation—insight that will support both retailer and shopping centre owners as they navigate an evolving market.

“Sheri brings a rare combination of deep retail specialization and a landlord-side lens that strengthens how we advise clients,” said Ruth Fischer, President of Savills Canada. “She understands how owners and asset managers think, what drives their decisions, how they assess risk and opportunity, and what it takes to execute. That perspective, paired with Savills collaborative culture, will help us deliver more integrated, intelligence-led solutions for retail clients across the country.”

In this new role, she will work closely with Jordan Karp, Head of Canadian Retail Services, building on the strong reputation he and his team have established nationally while further expanding our retail advisory capabilities. Before joining Savills, McEwen served as Senior Vice President, Retail Leasing – Asset Services at Cushman & Wakefield. Earlier in her career, she worked on the Retail Asset Management Team at Epic Investment Services. At Ivanhoé Cambridge, she played a pivotal role in leasing all categories of enclosed shopping centres in markets across Canada. Across these positions, she developed a reputation for delivering results aligned to business objectives, supported by a client-first approach and strong industry relationships.

“What drew me to Savills is the firm’s client-centric approach; there isn’t a one-size-fits-all model here,” said McEwen. “Savills combines an international platform with strong Canadian market knowledge, and the retail business is in growth mode. I’m excited to bring together my expertise in enclosed shopping centres, leasing, and asset management to help deliver value for both retailer and landlord clients by offering practical strategy and execution informed by my experience on all sides of the table.”

McEwen will be based in the firm’s Yorkville office and will focus on advisory and transaction services for retail occupiers and landlords, with an emphasis on developing creative, market-informed solutions to complex leasing and positioning challenges.

McEwen’s hire reflects Savills Canada’s continued investment in expanding service capabilities nationally. The firm has been strengthening its platform across major markets, including continued growth in investment sales in Calgary, expanded service offerings across Canada, and new talent additions in Montreal and Toronto to support clients with increasingly complex real estate needs.
